Heart Rate Sensor (Purdue ECE 20008 Final Project)

This project used an infrared transmitter and receiver to see the fluctuation in the amount of light transmitted through a finger to read the user's heart rate. This project required the use of amplifiers to amplify the signal and a frequency filter to eliminate noise in the signal. While working on a team of two, we used accurate measurements to choose components that gave us the best and more reliable signal possible. Once the heart rate sensor was completed, testing my heart rate with both my apple watch and the heart rate sensor, the heart rate sensor was able to read my heart rate with approximately 80% accuracy.
