Touch Guidance Wristband Design (ECE 49022 Senior Design Project)

Designed 2 wristbands with a haptic motor to give feedback about distance and direction of an obstacle. The wristbands would receive data from a vest equipped with ultrasonic and lidar sensors to measure the distance. The vest would then send the information over bluetooth to the wristbands. The frequency with which the wristbands vibrated would increase as the obstacle would get closer. If the obstacle was to the left, the left wristband would vibrate with a higher frequency than the right wristband and vice versa giving the user some spatial awareness. If the obstacle was directly in front of the user, both wristbands would vibrate.
